Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why is visiting the dentist so important?

Visiting the dentist regularly is important to maintain good oral health. Many people don’t visit the dentist unless they have a problem. While you may feel like you are saving money, it sometimes ends up costing more time and money. Many dental problems do not show any symptoms until they progress to the advanced stage.

Dental concerns like tooth decay do not cause any pain until they reach the nerve of the tooth. Many patients come to us with huge cavities, without feeling any discomfort at all. When you visit the dentist regularly, they can spot the early signs before the condition advances.

Visiting the dentist regularly is important to prevent any crisis from happening. At TruSmile Dental, we always try to preserve oral health and keep problems away.

2. Do I need to arrive early for my first appointment?

Yes, we request you to please arrive 10-15 early on your first appointment. This will allow us to sort out any required patients forms and formalities.

3. What do I need to bring in my first appointment?

When you visit us for the first time, please carry the following items with you:

4. My teeth feel fine. Do I still need to see a dentist?

If you haven’t visited the dentist in the last six months, you should. Even if your teeth feel fine, there might be plaque accumulation below your gum line or a decayed tooth. Many dental problems don’t have any visible symptoms.

Also, a dentist takes care of your oral health completely – including your gums and jaw. Regular visits to the dentist help in identifying oral cancer symptoms, preventing migraines caused by TMJ and much more.

5. What should I look for when choosing the right dentist for me?

Choosing the right dentist can depend on a lot of factors. Some things that you should look for include:

6. At what age should I start taking my child to see the dentist?

Your child’s first appointment at our office should take place around his or her first birthday. We won’t usually perform any treatments during this appointment; it’s more a chance for us to get acquainted, to help your child start adjusting to the routine of seeing a dentist, and so we can make sure their teeth are developing as normal. After this first visit, we’ll need to schedule regular checkups and examinations once or twice every year.

7. I want to know more about changing my smile. What do you suggest?

If you are not happy about several aspects of your smile, we can change it to help you achieve the smile of your dreams. Our cosmetic dental treatments are less invasive and customized according to the needs of the patient.

If your teeth are misaligned, we can help you straighten them with orthodontic treatments. Tooth-colored fillings can conceal any cavities and restore them to resemble a natural tooth. Bonding and veneers can also help in fixing minor issues such as chipped or damaged teeth.

8. My teeth are stained. Can you help?

Yes, we can. Teeth stain naturally over time due to the consumption of staining foods and beverages. Our whitening treatments can help you get a visibly whiter smile in just one appointment. Alternatively, if your teeth are severely stained or discolored, we can conceal them with veneers.

9. What are my options to replace missing teeth?

If you want to replace you missing teeth, we can help! Our restorative treatments such can help in filling in the gap and restoring your ability to chew and speak properly. Modern dental bridges are customized to ensure a perfect fit and natural color. These restore the aesthetic of your smile and are very durable. Schedule an appointment with us to know if bridges are the right choice for you!

10. Do you accept insurance?

Dr. Sahi is very polite and gentle. I was extremely nervous for my procedure but he made me super comfortable and the procedure went very well. He has excellent bedside manners. Also he accommodated me last minute when he saw I was in so much pain, even though he was fully booked for any treatments. Highly recommend him. This is my 3rd dentist, and I am glad I finally found a good one

I really enjoyed my experience here, which is weird to say about going to the dentist. Dr.Sahi made the experience a calming one and his bubbly personality made me feel at ease right away. His hygienist was such a sweet person as well. Everyone there treated us like family and made us feel really welcome and content. I will definitely be returning.
